Emergency care close to home
The ER at Brigham City Community Hospital is staffed by a team of emergency medical providers who specialize in giving each patient that comes through our doors patient-individualized, comprehensive and compassionate care. Certified by the American Board of Emergency Physicians or by the American Board of Internal Medicine, our emergency physicians offer our patients their expertise and dedicated skill 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
All ER staff members participate in extensive ongoing training and are certified in specialized emergency methods, including pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). This means our patients and their families can be confident that when they visit us for emergency care they will always receive high-quality and caring service.
Pediatric emergency care
Our friendly ER specialists take great care of kids of all ages. With additional training in pediatrics, this team has the right equipment on hand to meet the unique needs of diagnosing and treating children up to the age of 18. They understand that a medical emergency can feel scary for a child or teenager – and their parents too! So our team will make all of you feel as comfortable as possible, and they won’t keep you waiting.
Level IV Trauma Center in Brigham City
Our ER has also earned a level IV trauma center designation, meaning our emergency room staff is trained to provide initial diagnostic and stabilization services for people with severe injuries.
To earn this recognition, the trauma team at Brigham City Community Hospital actively advocated for trauma system development, enhanced our emergency services to include trauma care and demonstrated an ability to stabilize trauma patients quickly and safely. As a result, the Utah Department of Health (UDOH) certified that our community hospital meets all standards of care related to trauma treatment in Utah.
Trauma-trained nurses and board-certified physicians are ready to treat patients with severe injuries upon arrival to the emergency room. Brigham City Community Hospital also delivers a variety of surgeries and critical care services for trauma patients as necessary.
Our hospital also has transfer agreements with higher-level trauma care facilities when needed. An AirMed helicopter ambulance is available 24/7 just minutes away at Brigham City Community Hospital’s sister hospital, Ogden Regional Medical Center.
