When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted my provider to be Annie Overson, CNM. We had heard so much about her from friends and family. She was amazing and very easy to talk to. She made things so easy for us to understand.
However, when my blood pressure because a concern, my pregnancy was considered "high risk." We then began seeing Dr. Stanton Bailey, OBGYN, who practices with Annie. We've been seeing both of them for quite a while now and they both make us feel very comfortable.
Did anything about this pandemic make me fearful to deliver a baby? Yes! The whole time I was pregnant I was scared that she would get sick. But when you were in the delivery room, it doesn't really feel like anything is going on--you kind of forget about the scary stuff.
As soon as we walked into the hospital, we felt at ease. When you're in the hospital, it doesn't feel scary. Everything is very secure, clean and sanitized. Plus, the food is delicious! Basically, when we came into the hospital, it felt like a big weight was lifted off our shoulders.
In regards to the visitor policy, it's a good thing and we understand why it's important. Its better this way to keep the babies safe. The current restrictions weren't really an issue for us. Our family is still very excited! We've shared LOTS of photos and texts messages since having her.
If there are other mom's in the area who are concerned about delivering during a pandemic, I would say not to worry yourself to much. Just follow the precautions and be safe, and your baby is going to be just fine. Try not to let this pandemic worry you so much, and enjoy the experience of pregnancy.
The hospital staff has been wonderful. Everyone has been really great. From registration, all the way back to the delivery room with Annie and Dr. Bailey and their staff--everyone has been so kind, especially during this pandemic.
It was already a new experience for us, being first-time parents, and even more so during a pandemic. But with each visit, they reassured us it would be ok. Each doctors visit helped us prepare to bring little Izzy into the world without fear.
